Experimental Studies on the Entreochromafifin Cells by Injecting of 5-Hydroxytryptophan and C^(14) Labeled 5-Hydroxytryptophan

Abstract
|
|
|
The Author has made a study on the quantitative changes of the enterochromaffin cells population in the gastrointestinal mucosa by injecting 5-Hydroxytryptophan 150mg/Kg and C14 labeled 5 -Hydroxytryptophan 4. 8 mg/Kg, precursor substance of serotcnin, once or twice to guinea pigs and mice, the results obtained were as follows: 1) The enterochromaffin cells in the gastrointestinal mucosa increased as two times or more as much after injecting 5-Hydroxytyptophan both radioactive or not.
2) The author´s result obtained were well matched to result of experimental studies with
tissue homogenate made by Udenfriend, Herbert, Donald, and F. Bogdanski, etc.
3) There was no significant difference between 5 Hydroxytophan and C14 labeled 5- Hydroxytry
ptophan on the effect of enterochromaffin cells in the gastrointestinal mucosa,
